Entourage is one of my favorite shows, but for many its grown a little stale. Its different, its funny, the characters are great as is the dialogue, but many seasons and episodes just seem to be the same old stuff.

Below is great video from College Humor that touches on this and of late some of my peers and this overly disgruntled NTY writer have expresses similar gripes with the show.

In my opinion this sentiment will only grow if this year's storyline and episode pattern doesn't great creative, but in a way that doesn't disenfranchise its core base of viewers.
It can likely survive on sex, drugs, partying, and witty dialogue for a a handful of more seasons, but if this season doesn't reinvigorate viewers I think Entourage is headed for a slow descent back to earth.

I'm with these guys. It's pretty much just a guilty pleasure at this point!
Not just Entourage

Entourage has had a good run but getting stale and running out of material after five seasons is pretty typical for any show.

After the first season's success people spent the next two seasons complaining that every episode followed the same predictable story line (as highlighted in the above hilarious College Humor video). In the fourth season nothing was working for the guys (until the finale) and people complained about that too.

Now in the fifth season the writers tried to spice it up with all of the characters growing up and becoming more independent and it's still not working. At this point in the season (two episodes left) Lloyd's story is oddly the only one that's really of any interest to me.

I'm confident the show will be back for at least one more season due to the aforementioned core base of viewers who aren't disenfranchised by any of this.

Regardless of how you feel about the show I think it's worth noting that Entourage and HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm introduced a creative mix of reality and fiction that I'm not sure we'll see again any time soon.
